Last Friday, co-director Doug Valentine and MU advancement director Melia Douglass traveled to Washington, D.C. for a mini MSA reunion in preparation for the 40th anniversary of the Academy this summer.

23 alumni and guests attended the event, with scholar years ranging from the very first Academy in 1985 to 2013. Memories, anecdotes, and long-lasting impacts of the Academy were shared.

“It was a great time to share common stories of things they loved about MSA—and realize that despite the different years, everyone found at MSA the same connections and affirmations that were so appreciated in their high school years,” said Melia Douglass.

The next reunion will be our 40 Years of Magic event during the 41st Academy in June!
