It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of MSA’s June Academy in accordance with the University of Missouri’s cancellation of all in-person classes and residential summer programs. We are, of course, gutted that for the first time since we began in 1985, we will not be able to operate a full, 3-week Academy.
When we sent out invitations to the 2020 MSA class just a few short weeks ago, we hoped that the world would look very different than it does today. For the safety of you, our scholars, and of our faculty and staff, we won’t get to meet you all in person on June 7. Even though we suspected this might happen, we’re still pretty disappointed about it, and we know you are too.
We will not be offering a remote-learning Academy (that’s not a good option given the nature of MSA), but the faculty and staff are committed to trying to do something for and with the 2020 class at a later date. We’re not exactly sure what that will look like or even if a later event will be possible; we’re still exploring our options. Please watch your email for more information this summer.
Until then, stay safe & stay healthy!
Sincerely but regretfully,
Steve Keller, Rachel Harper, Hannah Guerrero and the entire MSA Family
